Craig Gardner: Bendtner makes midfield attacking easier

According to Journal Live, Craig Gardner thought that the Sunderland team brought it all together in the match against Stoke, and showed what the Black Cats are capable of:

“Stoke were always going to be a tough side to face but we hit them hard from the start. The early goal helped, and the goals kept coming after that. We have hinted at what we were capable of in some of the early games, but it was nice to bring it all together and produce a pretty good performance. The lads were brilliant throughout the side", Gardner said.

Gardner sees David Vaughan as the perfect fit for him in the midfield and that the presence of Nicklas Bendtner and Stéphane Sességnon in the offense is ideal in order to pose a threat against the opposition from the midfield players:

“Nicklas (Bendtner) is excellent at holding the ball up, and Stéphane (Sessègnon) makes great runs into the channels. The combination of those two things makes it much easier to make attacking runs into the area".
